Getting Ready

A fire has been lit under my butt. I was offered a job yesterday with Merrimack Elementary, and I took it! I had such a good feeling after I left the interview, I was hoping they would pick me. I had to wait the whole weekend - but it was worth it!

Subsequently, I am getting hyped up to plan, plan, plan. Knowing that I am teaching 1st grade gives me something to finally work with. Now I have an age group to work with when I imagine my classroom management plan, make up posters, buy books and organize my classroom. It gets me all excited, but really nervous at the same time. Every time I think about my class, I think about shutting that door behind me and being on my own on the very first day. There is some scary music that accompanies this image (Think Jaws). I mean, I am responsible for a big part in their ability to read! This makes me smile too because I love to read. So, for the next two weeks that I have left in my summer of love...I will be preparing for teaching. Again, sad and happy at the same time.

With only two weeks left before I become prisoner to some 20 6/7 year olds, I have a lot to do! Sleep in, get tan, start P90X, wash my car for the first time in a year, and do the post wedding chop. What is the post wedding chop? Well it looks something like this:

Or...not. More like, my hair is getting two long because I grew it out for the wedding and I need something a little bit shorter. But I don't know what I want it to look like. Most of my life it has been pretty basic hair. I don't even think I have a style, just hair with highlights. I was thinking something short and layered but with big bangs:

or

They are on the really short side, and really stylized, which I don't think would work for me, but I need something done!

In other news, we're going to the Cape this weekend and I am finally excited. The weather should be nice, I am going to hang out with some awesome people and I just love being on the Cape. It makes me feel relaxed. I need to take advantage of our pool and get more tan before I go. It is just so friggin' hot outside (90 degrees). One day, I am going to summer their with our children and David will fly up to see us each weekend. Perfect!

Anyone fantasize about excessive vacationing? I guess that is what being a teacher does to you!
